In today's newspaper of TODAY, it was reported that Tony Blair is ready to become a Roman Catholic. However the Pope was said to be unmoved because he opposed Mr Blair of supporting the US-led invasion of Iraq. He also didn't agree on Mr Blair's views on abortion, stem cells research which goes against traditional catholic views. Furthermore Mr Blair used to be an Anglican.

In my humble opinion, Pope Benedict XVI should be the last human being to air his views. First of all, a couple of months back, Pope Benedict in a random speech 'accidentally' insulted the Muslims, criticising something offensive. He then had to make a trip to Turkey to make an official apology. Talk about someone making a mistake, here is a prime example.

Now personally I agree that wars are morally wrong, but what about the holy crusades in the past? Millions of lives were killed because Christians and Muslims were fighting over Jerusalem, the holy land which both sides claim as rightfully theirs. Even till today, Arabs and Jews fight over it. As George Carlin said, more wars have been fought in the name of God than any other wars in history, so Mr Pope Benedict, before u tok about the Iraq war, clean ur arse first.

Secondly the Vatican does not support abortion and stem cells research. Alright on moral grounds, they might have a point in abortion but wat about stem cells? Sure scientist are trying to 'play god' but think about how many people can be cured of their disabilities and diseases with the research. Its easy for the Vatican to say so, they are not the ones suffering from any illnesses.

Lastly so what if Mr Blair used to be an Anglican. Prisons and drug rehabilitation centres have banners and slogans saying Jesus loves you , everyone deserves a second chance, Jesus will welcome anyone regardless of background with open arms. My eyebrows are definitely raised here. If an Anglican who wishes to convert to Catholicism is viewed with suspicion by the Vatican, surely more questions can be raised if they can welcome ex-prisoners and drug addicts. What message are they sending out here? That Mr Blair as a politician has a different set of criteria, that the Vatican practises selection?

WANKERS!!!
