Glory Glory Man Utd,
Glory Glory Man Utd,
Glory Glory man Utd,
and the reds goes marching on on on!
A few hours back, I caught the most awesome kelong match ever seen so far after the AC Milan-Liverpool 2005 champions league final. Yes that is my favourite team Manchester United vs Everton. They were down 2-0 but fought back to win 4-2. It was a cosy ride the moment the goalkeeper turner spilled the ball nicely for O-Shea to tap in the first goal for United. I know its his first game for Everton but no one was putting pressure on him and yet he easily 'swee swee' drop the ball nicely for O-Shea. Eating money ah Turner. The second goal was even nicer, a scramble in the penalty box led to ex-Man Utd player Phil Neville to somehow clear the ball into the Everton net. From that angle, even my mother would have decently cleared the ball away better but what to do, as an ex Man Utd player, I am not surprised after the game his brother Gary Neville and Alex Ferguson give him a big ang pow. Not a bad deal, help Manchester United win the game and Premiership title and share the prize money. From then on, there was only going to be one winner with Rooney and Eagles rounding up the score. Great fightback from a soccer fan perspective but bad acting today from the Everton players, want to kelong also must put up a better show mah.
To Chelsea and Mourinho who earlier this season mentioned that United wouldn't last the pace, eat ur words and jerk off ur wankies in Stamford bridge.

Sorry Mr Kok I will treat u to milo peng when u come back.
I decided to reward myself with spaghetti for dinner. Initially I boycotted the western stall at can 13 because his portion is getting smaller and smaller compared to last sem. Today after they made me wait for 20min, I have thus decided to add the western stall to my list of condemned stalls together with the vietnamese. They make me wait, I make them wait long long for me to buy food from them.

Last night's game against AC Milan for me has entered alongside my all time favourite United games.
1) 1999 champions league final against Bayern Munich 2-1
2) 1999 2nd leg game against juventus 3-2
3) 1999 2nd game replay against Arsenal 2-1
4) 1999 3rd Round Fa Cup against Liverpool 2-1
5) 2004 League Match against Arsenal 2-0 ( Ended Arsenal 49 winning game streak)
6) 2005 League Match against Chelsea 1-0
7) 2007 Champions league semi final against AC Milan 3-2
8) 2003 Champions league quarterfinal against Real Madrid 4-3
The game deserves special praise because Manchester United played well with a makeshift fringe defence against a very technical Milan side. Henize did well in the absence of Vidic and Ferdinand while Fletcher somehow seems to shine in Midfield centre. And of course Rooney for a superb performance. Scholes and Carrick held the forte well and it was also an honour to see Kaka play with such elegance. Nesta also treated everyone with an eye display of what world class defending is about.
Of course the 3rd goal which Rooney scored one and a half min into stoppage time looks very suspicious to me. With 30 more seconds to go, the Milan player should have pumped the ball into the corner to waste time. Afterall they had a 2 away goal advantage but instead the defender who I think was Otto or Janvuloski swee swee fall down and "pass" the ball to Ryan Gigss who then went on his run to release the ball to Rooney and score the winner. Dida an experienced Goalkeeper who should have covered his angle to the post also swee swee stand in the centre and if to invite Rooneyto shoot into the far corner of the goal which he did. During the game and after there were so many hi-fives between both team players and I am not surprised that the Italians have(as usual) eaten the bookies money again.
I think I shoud be an ESPN pundit.

I read with great interest about the article regarding kelong in Singapore soccer in yesterday's Sunday times. A player reported that an S-league player offered him $8000 to get himself sent off. Ex-bookies revealed tactics on how they lured soccer players into fixing a match. The whole kelong business in soccer though not transparant is pretty obvious in my eyes. Last min dramatic goals are the norm in S-league nowdays, defenders who should and normally easily clear the last ditch balls somehow miskick it to the opponents. Vague effort is made to tackle or close down the attackers and it seem to me that it their minds they are trying to say to their opponent "quickly score la, I already make the path so easy for you, you want us to earn the money anot"
I don't blame the soccer players for taking bribes. The average age a player has to retire is prob about 34. Afterwhich he retires what else can he do for a living? Malays form the majority of the players and lets not kid ourself, almost all of them do not have education higher than ITE. They come from poor families( usually large ones). The easiest way out for them is to throw a game and use that extra income to feed their families.
If I had honed my skills when I was in primary school I might have made the grade to become an S-league player. I would definitely throw away matches and bet through my friends. Ben Chen, ur skills not bad, you should give it a try and if you make it pls let me know, I will fix matches through you.

I was checking my IPPT results which I took last june on the ns portal.
Situps - 40 (5pts)
Broad Jump -234 (4pts)
Shuttle Run -9.7s (5pts)
Pullup -12 (5pts)
2.4km run -10.56 (4pts)
Overall - Silver
Basically the only thing standing in my way for gold and $400 is the 2.4km run which has to be run under 9min45s. For the past two weeks, I have starting running the 199 and 179 route to condition myself. After my last paper on the 2nd may, I will begin an intensive running and swimming programme everyday and hopefully by june I can be ready for IPPT. I think the last time I ever did such a crazy programme to train fitness was in secondary 3 when I was preparing for the national youth taekwondo tournament. I remember running every single day and doing drills which almost made me close to vomiting. My instructor was a psycho and his mantra was simple, when you puke it means u have given 100% effort, otherwise if not u must continue training until u puke. Glad I am now in a more civilised environment.
If anyone wants to take IPPT let me noe. I will be taking with Zhan Rui at the end of May.
Wish me luck folks! And all the best for the exams to everyone!

So the titanic battle is set for the 19th of may when Manchester United faces Chelsea in the FA cup final. On top of that, both sides could possibly face each other in the champions league final. There is also the premiership encounter on may 9 when United travels to stamford bridge.
Througout the season, many people have tipped Man Utd for the treble. Of course with so much hype, United could also easily lose the plot and win nothing at all in the end. Even if they were to end the season empty handed, they would still get my respect and support for the breathtaking displays they have put in this season. Compared to Chelsea's squad, United's squad look meagre in comparison and it will be sweeter if Manchester United fridge squad can beat them in the trophy's hunt. Manchester United have battled the odds this season, Ronaldo fighting the boo boo boys, Ryan Giggs and Scholes showing that they still have the hunger, Alan Smith showing his fighing dog spirit etc. In terms of depth, balance and money budget, Manchester United are winners in my eyes already this season. People talk about Ronaldo and Rooney but for me, the player for this season is Nemanja Vidic, no nonsense defending from him. His absence have shown in the last few matches and the next few matches will determine how badly they will miss him. I wish him a speedy recovery.
Back to moment area and virtual deflection. Damn can't wait for the exams to end.

While taking a break in between studying, I went to youtube to search for the videoclips of the recent Asean federation cup semi-final match between Singapore and Malaysia. Singapore drew that match and later went on to win on penalties. On closer look and replay, I noticed a few keilong moments. When Shi Jiayi took his kick, the ball went directly to the Malaysian keeper but somehow the keeper punched the ball backwards into the net. Afterwhich he sat down and smiled. When Jiayi jogged back, Alam Shah was pointing his finger at him as if to say "lucky the keeper help you punch the ball in otherwise today we cannnot get our money". It is simple mechanics, when the ball strikes towards your hand, the ball will rebound back, but in this case the ball went backwards in the net. There was also an instance when Alam Shah high fived with the Malaysian keeper. I couldn't believe that it was so friendly considering the rivalry we have.
Finally, when Malaysia took the last penalty, the kicker took a tame shot and Lionel Lewis saved the kick which enabled Singapore to win. The Malaysian captain put his arms around the player who missed the last kick and was smiling away. I can't see how a team captain can smile after a loss unless he has money in the pocket given by someone to throw the game. U gotta watch it to believe it.

Early this morning, I caught the champions league game between Manchester United and Roma. Man Utd fashionably whacked Roma 7 goals in style. They were aggressive right from the start closing Roma down quickly and challenging for every ball. Heinze and brown played magnificently well in defence and credit to Rooney, Smith, Ronaldo and Carrick too. It was a night were passes were pin point and shooting was accurate. It ranks up together with the nights where United beat Real Madrid 4-3 at home.
But the score also represents a night of 'kelong' in soccer. 7-1? Total goals 8, I wonder how much the payout is. After the whistle, the Roma players must have been gleaming with joy inside their hearts. I always knew Manchester United would win the 2nd leg, esp after I saw Paul Scholes dying to get a red card in the first leg. Barely 30min into the first game, Scholes was ferociously tackling players as if he wanted to get send off. He must have known that the 2nd leg will be bribed in favour of United otherwise why would he want to miss the 2nd leg. Since he knew United would win last night, he therefore got a red card to clear off his suspension.
Also, Chelsea won 2-1 last night thanks to a last min goal from essien. Too good to be true? U bet. God knows how much money the goalkeeper and defenders took from Abramovich. Soccer today is sadly all about money. It is no longer a sport but a movie entertainment. Fifa does not control the soccer world, Ladbrokes live betting is the new Fifa. What a superficial world we live in again.

While sending my clothes to the laundry, I saw a paper pasted on the wall written by somebody which said "To the person who throw his clothes into the washing machine while my clothes were still being washed, you are an inconsiderate person...blah blah.....if you want your clothes back pls come to room blah blah..." I applaud the person who wrote that, he is standing up for many people who have experienced the same problem and it is about time these incorrigible idiots learn a lesson. If such a thing ever happened to me, I would probably throw the clothes in the rubbish bin.

At lunch today, I was thinking back over the years and the friends that I have made. I am proud to say that I had the opportunity to come across many good friends in secondary school, JC, army and NTU. But sadly I also had to come across a few friends that should time ever turn back, I would not want to know them again.
I would like to mention a friend in particular. Some of you might know him and he might read this but to each his own. I shall call him Mr weather because he acts like the weather, when the weather is good in your house he comes to visit you, when it isn't he steers clear of you.
Mr weather is a practical person who believes that money is everything. I give it to Mr weather for having an ambition is life and the amount of effort he puts in to achieve his goals. But what I detest is the way he treats people around him. I remember when Mr weather had an injury to his leg, some people had the heart to help him, driving him around, buying back meals from the canteen. Yet somehow, weatherman did not say a word of thanks to them when he recovered. Somehow everything was forgotten.
Mr weather also likes to boast about his wealth in front of people esp girls. But if my memory serves me correctly, being a friend of his for about two years, he did not even buy me a cup of tea or milo. Speaking of girls, he even went to Church for a gal but when the relationship was over, even God was omitted from his plan. I feel sorry for the girls sometimes, they see one side of weatherman but not the other. I believe that when you like someone, you should accept that person for his/her bad points and not only the good and if you can accept the bad, you can go all the way.
Mr weather once wanted to invest in a business plan and suddenly he started calling his friends around him his 'brothers'. Once again, when all was over and done with, everyone was divorced again.
I find Mr weather very superficial, coming to you only when he needs help or want things to be done. Yes we all use other people in someway but we at least treat our friend to a meal or drink. For all the money Mr weather boast he has, it is an irony that I did not had the luxury of a treat. I know first hand of a few others who have experienced the same problem with Mr weather and many have washed their hands clean on him. I think back on whether it was because of something wrong that I did before to deserve this karma and if that is the case, there is nothing I can do about, otherwise I wish that had circumstances in the past be different, I wouldn't want to know the weatherman again. Mr weather may go far in life next time but I wouldn't be the least bothered, he will never ever earn my respect. As far as I am concern, my 'friendship' with Mr weather was over long time ago and I do not wish to be associated with his name again.
To my friends, when the weatherman comes to visit you, I advice you to wear the correct clothes.
Leeds United are finally out of the relegation zone. Hooray!

A few hours ago I caught the repeat of champions league highlights. There was of course the ugly footage of Manchester United fans being assaulted by the Italian police. Naive people will easily say that it is typical of British fans to behave in unruly behaviour and therefore deserve it. But upon looking at the replay, it seemed that while both sides of fans were taunting each other, only the English fans got the beatings. Women and children were not spared and an eye witness said that a disabled man was beaten. Even when the United fans were on the ground and not being a threat, the Italian police continued to whack them. A female fan filming the scene had her camera confiscated. Thankfully sky sports managed to film the scenes down.
So as usual, both sides have pointed the finger at each other. As for myself, I have this to say about the Italians. Italian people are by far the most racist and fucked up human beings. For the ignorant, black players in the Italian Serie A are often verbally abused by opposition players and fans. Monkey taunts and gestures are often belted out at them. At the 2002 world cup, when Ang Jhun Hwang's header knocked Italy out, Perugia immediately sacked the player in the same week. In Europe, most developed nations have integrated black players in their national squad. As for Italy, throughout history till now, there has not been a single black player in the squad. One wonders how many Negros have Italian citizenship's.
Sure, Italians may be proud of their heritage and national identity, but in a country where crime, racism, mafia and corruption is so prevalent, it makes me doubt whether Roman Catholicism is really the national religion. Italy is predominantly a catholic country, the Vatican headquarters is located in Turin, people regularly go to church on sundays to pray and seek forgiveness but somehow come mondays to saturdays, it seems that they are allowed to switch off and do whatever shit they want.
I hope justice prevails, I hope Manchester United will beat Roma next wednesday and should Roma fans get injured in a riot, well as Catholics themselves, may they forgive the Man United fans.

In a few decades, what is now happening to the polar bears will very soon happen to us. Polar bears today are facing extinction because of global warming, where high temperatures are causing ice-bergs to melt which means that polar bears will have nothing to float on. I feel sorry for animals. They haven't done really anything wrong to us yet we have fuck up their lives so badly. The feeling is akin to someone accusing you of committing something you didn't even do at all. You were not involved yet somehow involuntarily dragged into the situation. So with due respect to animals, I really feel sorry for them for the shit we have given them.
It is not as if global warming isn't a known fact, in fact it has been publicised in the newspaper regularly. Yet politicians choose to settle other layman issues first. I don't think the current situation will ever change and by the time people should start to panic, it will be too late by then.

I was backstabbed so hard and I didn't even know it. Worst of all I was backstabbed by someone who acted so friendly towards me that I never even suspected it at all. I am pissed because one small issue was blown out of proportion by people who have used my situation for their own benefits.
My message is simple. If you wanna threaten me, go ahead and threaten me. I have never feared anyone and I certainly won't back away from any fight. Bring it on. If u wanna talk the walk, u better walk the talk. More details to be updated on my brother blog.

I was having a peaceful sleep, well not exactly peaceful because I dreamt that I was at the airport about to leave for Brunei for my reservist. But anyway my sister called me at 11 45am, I couldn't make out what she was saying because I was still in lala land so she said "u still sleeping ah? Nvm I tok to Dad. " It turns out that there will be a Francis Yip concert in Hong Kong later this month and she asked my Dad if he wanted tickets. At lunch my father told my mother about it and they both agreed to go. My mom asked for the ticket price and my dad said 450 singapore dollars each. My goodness, I cannot believe that my father would actually request to buy the most expensive ticket. $450 I would rather wait for the Dvd to come out, spend the remaining money on shark's fin, abalone and even wage it on Toto.
