Office fling acting cute again

Tuesday, March 25, 2008

Asshole. Yes, Mindef is a big asshole. After calling me up for reservist for the coming holidays, depriving me of the chance to take intersem and clearing more modules, they have decided to put me on recall manning standby during my school term in September. As if engineering is not stressful enough, I have to worry about being activated on top of my tutorials and possibly quizzes. It is a disadvantage to be a Singaporean male. In times like this I wish I were a foreigner instead.

Today after coming back from a jog, I spotted a huge ass lizard. I took a newspaper and swatted the fucker. I wanted to whack it one more time but my mother told me to let the lizard struggle and die. After I finished my bath, I noticed the lizard shedding its tail and starting to wriggle again. I told my mom. She went to boil water and I realised she wanted to pour boiling water over it. I remarked at how vicious she was. But when the water finally boiled, she hesitated and told me to pour instead. I told her that I didn't want to go to hell. She told me that she would pray for me but I wasn't buying that. In the end she apologised to Jesus and did the evil job. Hahaha, I just stood by and had a good laugh.

It was Kelvin's birthday today. He was cool enough to treat everyone to lunch at the clubhouse. The clubhouse serves pretty good food and the ambiance is quite relaxing. There will be another lunch outing next thurs, I dunno for wat occasion. But who cares, I enjoy the meals because the ladies always cannot finish their food and throw it to me : )

Two horny ladies in my department

U take pic of me, I take pic of u

Ok, the one on the left is actually my office fling

I am so glad I cleared today off. The weather was perfect for sleeping. I haven't had a nice afternoon nap ever since starting work. I went to swim in the morning. Along the way I met two of my frenz who were on IA, one was on leave while the other was having his lunch break. Somehow, I seem to be getting closer to people who are doing IA, perhaps we all understand each other's situation better.

The long weekend kept me real busy. Went shopping on fri, bought some clothes to satisfy my appetite for spending money. Was supposed to meet M1 and Van on sat, but thanks to their indecisiveness and childishness, I have decided that enough is enough. It is over before we have even begun. On Sunday, I went to chill out with M2. Our personalities are quite similar and I had no problem clicking with her. But now that the situation is starting to get more serious, I know I have to give her an answer soon. Everyday her messages are getting more suggestive and pressurizing. But as things stand, I am still undecided.

Putting everything aside, I am thrilled that Manchester United smashed Liverboo 3-0 to the ground yesterday. Who wants to walk with Liverboo now?

I had a short chat with my supervisor today, just to make sure that she has not forgotten about me. Basically my concern was to know who I would be understudying when I go to the events department next month. There is supposedly a son of a bitch who is in charge of events, who always ask people to help him, but when people need his help, he give thousand and one excuses. My colleagues have warned me that this SOB will save every sms and email in his computer so as to quote the person when things do go wrong. Can't believe that this kinda idiot can exist in Singapore. To think that he has Masters qualifications. Thankfully my supervisor told me to learn from another person, in fact she assured me that she will not attach me to the SOB.

Furthermore, I need not shift out and can continue to stay put in my current location. What a relief........ The events department are all filled with Ah Peks. They have no facial expressions, whenever I walk pass them and smile, they simply stare at me as though I escaped from Guantanamo Bay. At least I can still continue my office affair. Keke..... Not forgetting the lunch banter. Thank goodness.

I have gotten myself in a mess and I dunno how to get out of it. Its so U2 stuck in a moment. The signals I get in office is leaving me confused. Gotta make a big decision soon.

Lately work is getting more boring, that is if I even get any work at all. This is the last two weeks of my stint in the traffic schemes department so I guess everyone more or less are letting me enjoy the remaining days. I will be moving to the ERP department next month. I used to get by the day by going to the arcade or reading newspapers in the library. Recently I even brought my psp to work, tactically playing games under the desk. Still boredom kills. Today, I volunteered to make milo for everyone. I thought that was the least I could do after being treated to egg tarts, ice cream and bubble tea for the past week. Not a single day goes by without someone offering snacks to everyone. It seems like an unwritten rule, thou shall not leave office without snacking.

Recently, my office fling has been getting more suggestive. The stuff that we talk, well, I leave it to the reader's imagination. Ethan, you will not regret coming to this department.

Went for a hair cut today. At the salon, I couldn't help but listen to one uncle give his five cents bit of gossip to the hairdresser. According to him, he claims that Mas Selemat is dead. The authorities while interrogating him had beaten him to death and in order to cover up their tracks, decided to fake the whole escapade so as to avoid any autopsy and human violation rights charges. At least I was kept entertained throughout.

Earlier in the morning , I played for Melvin's team and I am proud to say that I lasted the whole game at right back although I switched to sweeper in the last 20min. At times, I was panting like a dog, but I was never gonna give up just because of tiredness. I think after today, the rest of the team have warmed up to me. I feel more assured of my place now after receiving the thumbs up and pats by the seniors. Melvin almost started a fight after he was tackled on his shin. Vulgarities were exchanged but luckily emotions eventually calmed down. I was never afraid even if it might escalate to a fight. Bring it on I say. Looking at my team-mates, some of them look like ex jail birds, one of them sporting a goatee, had tattoos all over his body, his panda eyes and buff body made him look like a drug addict/underground boxer. At least that was my first impression of him. But he turned out to be a very down to earth lad, pretty easy to get along with. In fact he was the one who calmed things down. I still dunno if Melvin lashed out because it was a dirty tackle or if it was one of his scare opponent psychological tricks that he used to teach me.

To ethan/bbc/steelman: Eh if Melanie mention anything abt me, keep me updated. I won't
tell her that you tell me. Tsk tsk tsk.

Yesterday was my first time at the Singapore Turf club to watch horse racing. Me and Kangli were easily the youngest ones there, with the arena filled with thousands of Ah Peks carrying newspapers and the Punter's guide. We didn't know how to bet but the Ah Peks were more than willing to teach us when we approached them. We learnt our lesson after the first race and luckily for me in the third race, my horse came from behind to finish strongly in third place. It was fun to soak in the atmosphere especially when the horses are about 300m away from the finishing mark, all the ah peks will start to stand and pump their fists in the air shouting their horse number and scream 'hia', 'hia' 'hia'. Some will clasp their ticket in both hands and mumble a prayer while most will swing their newspaper and yell. Every face has a story, you can see hopes and passion in their eyes. Yesterday was just a learning curve for me, no doubt I only won 4 dollars, I will be back again. For anyone interested to join me in future, here is a guide.

I am still distraught and coming to terms with what I encountered just a while ago. I was @ Lorong Lew Lian wanting to buy bak chor mee. What I got instead was a very mixed response from the aunty.

Me : Hi, 给我 bak chor mee, mee pok, hiam.

Aunty: 我不是卖wantan mee.

Me: 我知道,我要买 bak chor mee.

Aunty: (Raised Voice) 我不是跟你讲了吗! 我不是卖 wantan mee!

Me: ??? Ok lo, bye bye

I really dunno what the fuck happen to the aunty. Frankly speaking, her bak chor mee not bad, but since she become siao, no point in me forcing her.

My boss asked me today if I plan to join the department after I grad. Tricky. Since he is the one partially giving me a grade, of course I lied under my breath and said yes. Everyone has been secretly telling me not to re-join. I am still undecided. Honestly I like everyone here, all the gor gors help me alot, all the jie jies shower me alot of sisterly love, esp biscuits and kueh. But work wise, can see them suffering. Maybe I might join other department next time. What I like best about LTA is that it is 4 Mrt stops away from my house.

Time for a jog!

My nickname in office is no longer Curry anymore. This comes after my section department head said that I look like Edison Chen from the side view. So lately everyone is calling me Edison or Guan Xi. I am not sure if I should feel honoured, after all Edison's reputation in real life has taken a step back. But there are still a few staunch loyal supporters who still continue to call me Curry. Well, I am accustomed to my multiple names by now.

Today was Professor visiting day. Prof Lum came down to see my supervisor and had a chat with me. He knew basically everybody in the department, be it young or old. He claims that he taught them and even knew what year they graduated. I expected him to grill me on alot of questions relating to my work. Surprisingly, he talked alot of rubbish, talked about army, how he plans to run a marathon this year, telling me how a pretty lady used to work in LTA and he had his eyes on her. He was checking out all the females in my department, blatantly staring at their legs when they walked passed. He didn't even read what I wrote in my logbook, considering the effort I put in. But on the whole, he sounds like a nice chap.

What a nice weather to sleep.

Today I was kept real busy at work. I didn't even have the time to read newpaper in the library, although I managed to sneak 10min of arcade playing time in the afternoon. Well actually I was busy updating my log book as my supervisor will be paying me a visit this wed to access my performance. For the next two days I have to be on my best behaviour, no more clowning around.

To the bbc/steelman, remember to ask Jacky whether he can bring us free into machang. For anyone out that interested in joining me to see horse-racing next sun, sms me or drop me a msg. There is a fortune to be made out there.
