In a few hrs time, I will be out there in the field playing rugby, or is it ploughing the muddy field. At times I wonder why the fuck I am doing this. Is it really for the passion or for pride. Does it really outweigh the benefits of working or spending time with my family? It has kept me thinking this whole month. And boy am I sick again, really regretted playing the friendly on wed, it has left me with bad cuts on my left leg and a flu.

Year 2006 draws to an end and reflecting back on the year, it has been alright for me. Feeling pretty moody now becoz of a couple of things, a few incidents have made me pissed off this week. Hope that 2007 will be a much happier year for me.

Today I made my debut for sepak takraw. We won overall 2-1 and I also started my first fight in inter-hall. Ok la it was a small one and thinking about it, I also dunno what went in my head just now. Apparantly the opp leg had pivoted in the circle so the point went to us. Wengfai then went over to explain nicely to the hall 8 pple. Instead they rebutted a bit aggressively and I didn't like the body language of one of the vietnamese pricks so I ran over and pushed him. Immediately the hall 8 pple about 5 of them separated us and dragged me away, of course not without me swearing "u pu bor kia" at that arse first. Joel and the rest were juz laughing there, only hengkia bother to come backup. I think if Edwin was there it would have been a different story.

Yesterday's loss to Hall 5 was a bitter pill to swallow, we were so closed to winning en route to the quarters but a few lapses in concentration cost us a defeat. But the match did proved a thing, we are capable of matching the better halls. I believe we can beat hall 2. There was great support yesterday but we let them down, hopefully come next fri we can put a smile on everyones face.

Another point I have noticed, so far all the Popes have been white people. Will we ever get to see a black, Hispanic, Asian Pope at all? Is it a coincidence or racial related?

Also, according to movies like the exorcism, there have been incidents whereby people have been possessed by the devil and at the end of the day like all Hollywood movies, the good guys win, the priest sucessfully exorcised the devil out of the body. Of course the identity of the person is "conveniently" protected and withheld. Now my question is why does the church not videotaped the whole process and show it to the whole world. Surely if the world sees the tape, everyone would start praying to God. I mean if I were head of the Christian community and I have proof that God works to eliminate evil, I would surely present it to the whole world to prove his existence and increase the number of worshippers. Any marketing student can also testify to this strategy.Unless of course such a thing never happened in the first place. I can only SPECULATE that the movies is just a way to make money between Hollywood and the church or scare people to belive in God.

Also, the incident involving the Lady of Fatima appearing to the three sheperds in Portugal a few decades back is suspicious. Somehow only the "three" young sheperds can see the virgin Mary while the "rest" of the audience cannot see. Whether the sheperds were highly paid good actors I don't know. They are supposely told three secrets two of which has already happened, world war one and two. The last one is yet to happen and the secret is said to make every Pope who has ever read it turn pale white. Ok so it is a secret but come on surely God is not so selfish right? Only the Pope can know the secret? Fine. Some speculate it to be the end of world which brings me to ask why would God want to create the world in the first place if he knew he was gonna end it eventually unless of course he cannot predict the future which contridicts the theory that he is all powerful and almighty.

Furthermore, at the start of the bible, it is said that in the first seven days, God created light, darkness, the world, Adam and eve blah blah blah... But I noticed no mention of creating dinosaurs. Even if one were to read the whole bible, I do not recall any mention at all of dinosaurs. Now surely something as significant as dinosaurs derserves some mention? Surely humans muz have been eaten? Unless of course the bible is against the scientific evidence that dinosaurs exist way before time. Highly impossible becoz they wouldn't want to lose a significant number of worshippers who also believe in science. I know all these is rather confusing but give it a thought yea. And dun report me to any authorities. Thanks!

Ok I am bored again so I am gonna write about my fav subject God.

Some people say that since Evil is created by Satan and Satan is created by God, God is actually responsible for evil.

A simple analogy. If we were to put a toddler in a kitchen and the kitchen has three sharp knives. Suppose the toddler plays around and accidentally cuts himself with the knives, surely any adult would blame us for being ignorant by putting the toddler in the kitchen all by himself inspite of knowing the dangers the knives can impose. Of course one would argue that it is human error but lets say knives did not exist in the first place(assume that knives serves no purpose except killing), the accident would not have happened in the first place. Similarly, if God did not create evil feelings and emotions in humans, we would not be killing each other in the name of hate. My theory is simple, prevention is better than cure, if we do not impose the root factor in the beginning, nothing would take place. Without evil feelings like jealousy and hate in the first place, there would be zero percent success rate for many evil actions.

Its like a choice between putting a child through two schools. Say school one is a prestigious school with highly educated students and school two is a substandard school with students from dubious backgrounds, one would surely put a child in school one due to the fact that is has lesser risk of the child learning bad values from the other students. We cannot totally eliminate the possiblity of the child learning bad things in school one but for argument sake, we all know that the chances are substantially lower.

Therefore, my arugment is that since God has created hate, jealousy, greed in humans, the premium risk of us humans commiting sins is therefore gonna be there as compared to a world if he did not create any of these in the first place. Its like exposing the child to vulgar words, of course the child would pick them up as compared if we live in a world where everyone does not even swear at all. I know Christian pple out there would say that we as humans can make the choice between good and evil and that by doing the wrong thing it is a reflection of our morals but hey do think about my analogy of putting a kid in the school. If u guys got the balls, put ur kid in school two and teach him ur sets of values and see how he grows up, that is of course if one were to dare try it out in the first place if given a choice.

A narrow win it was today but nonetheless still a win. Could have been a draw if the ref had judged that I had handled the ball in the penalty area which I did. Lucky me otherwise I would have to take the blame. Hall 8 are whiners and wankers. Practically each time they go to ground they have to cry foul. I rem the fat ass midfielder no 28, in the last few mins of the game as he lined up to take a shot I threw my body to try and block it and caught his leg due to momentum. There he was saying I delibrately fouled him. End of game I still overheard him toking bout that foul. Eh if u not happy ask ur father come down la ah. He also said our hall machiam bo seh, only pump long balls to strikers and couldn't do much. Well how is this for stats, hall 8 shots on target ZERO. Cry father cry mother 100%.

Everyday rain rain rain and instead of sleeping I am out there playing, how wasted....

Tuesday, December 12, 2006

I finally tried out playing sepak takraw today, ok la its a bit fun but not as easy as I hoped it would be. I am stil trying to inspire myself for thurs soccer match against hall 8, somehow I have seem to lost the drive to play football. During the exams, I broke away from weekend soccer duties and lost the momentum eventually. Anyway Captain Helmi has organised a match this week, hopefully the match will take place, need to catch up on match fitness and technical positioning.

I need to psych myself up for this thurs, and yea I will practise my pre-match routine, drink teh c peng before the game!

Monday, December 11, 2006

Whoa, seems like google is buying over everything huh.
What a pulsating game, the Arsenal vs Chelsea game has got to be the best game I have watched so far this season.I admit chelsea were unlucky not to win in the final mins of the game.

I am still shackled by sat match. Totally no fitness and poor awareness of the ball. Morale and confidence a bit low in contrast to a few months back. It will be interesting to see how I fare on thurs. Anyway out of boredom, I have decided to name my dream team. Here goes. I have adopted a 4-3-1-2 formation.

Goalkeeper - Peter Schemichael

The great dane, I always fancy a keeper who shouts at you throughout the game thereby keeping you mentally alert.

Right Back - Gary Neville

A loyal servant and a hard working bloke who runs his heart out down the flank.

Right Centre Back - Rio Ferdinand

He may have been off-form sometimes but he hasn't let England down in major tournaments esp the world cup, he is fully focused and rarely loses a tackle.

Left Centre back - Tony Adams(Vice Captain)

A typical British old fashioned and no nonsense defender. Someone who can psych players up before a game and rally the troops when the chips are down definitely gets a slot in my starting lineup.

Left Back - Ashley Cole

The only person I feel who can stop Cristiano Ronaldo.

Right Centre Mid - Luis Figo

An extremely skillful winger who can play centre mid as well. At his peak, he was practically carrying Portugal on his own. My secondary school idol.

Centre Mid - Roy Keane(Captain)

Since I started watching EPL, I dun rem seeing anyone square up to him after any challenge. Week in week out players square up to challenges but no one has ever reacted to him after a challenge, he is that FEARSOME.

Left Centre Mid - Pavel Nedved

Many still say Juventus only lost to Milan in the 2003 champions league final because he was suspended. A talented player who also led Lazio to the scudetto. He can make mazy runs and pass a through ball.

Hole(In front of midfield and behind strikers) - Zinidine Zidane

How could this maestro not be in anyone's dream team. Practically the best player of our generation.

Left Forward - Rivaldo

Another skillful player full of tricks. He can dribble and most importantly score.

Right Forward - Fat ronaldo

He may be slow now but surely a few years back he was the best clinical finisher of the game. Able to do dummies and crossovers as well.

Reserves

Keeper - Buffon/ Oliver Kahn

It was difficult to choose between them so I decided to include both.

Sweeper/Left Back -Paolo Maldini

A world class defender who reads the game and tackles well.

Midfield- Michael Essien

A player who can slot in at any postion and excel. A physically powerful lad, almost a complete player, one to watch out for the future.

Attacking Mid - Paul Scholes

A technical and crafty player who has great vision and passing ability. Though quiet by nature, he stands shoulder to shoulder with the best players in the world. He is the most underated player who should deserve more recognition.

Hole - Wayne Rooney

Though he is not as skillful as henry or a finisher like Van Nisterooyl, he plays with his heart on his sleeve. Only 21 and still not the finished product yet. How could anyone ever leave him out.

Striker - Eric Cantona

My idol and also the reason why I supported Leeds Utd then and later Manchester United. He has a great footballing brain and is also a charismatic entertainer.

I am sick of playing all these mind games. I tried to be diplomatic about it but since you don't get it, then don't blame me for being nasty. I don't even own u anything for a start. I can play mind games also.

Have been enjoying life for the past few days. Just came back from drinking with Phil, Junxian and the baba Nicolas. It felt like good old times, sitting down to drink and talk cock. Earlier in the day, went to Singapore swimming club to get a tan and relax in the jacuzzi and sauna. One word to describe today, SHIOK!

The day before I also met up with my secondary school frenz to catch up on times. Found out a couple of gals got married and already with kids. A few of my juniors according to my police fren are in jail. Seems like I haven't been in contact with a lot of pple for a while.

However the past few days have also been torried at times. A gal I got to know while working at Sing Post has been pestering me to go out with her. I should have known better when she asked me for my number. The branch manager also played a part when she kept persuading me to tackle her. Sing Post is a fucking match making agency, the last place I worked, the aunties also asked me to date their daughters. WTF... Anyway I have decided to make things clear to her after her 21st birthday this fri, dun wanna be a bastard also. Vincent the weirdo also took my number. I really regret being too friendly with pple. Tomorrow at Bedok I shall project a jerk attitude. If only Jenny could be more friendly, hhmm maybe things might be in a different state, haha.

Day 4 summary

In total, I have been called an uncle three times. Also whenever young kids misbehave, their parents will go 'see that man there, u naughty he will come take u and sell u away'. Since when did I became the convenient bad guy, i so friendly.

Gonna miss the ah beng tomorrow, he took the day off. For the past few days, he has been my constant supply of free cigerettes. But I did help him by pushing every customer to him. But that means I will be stuck with vincent tomorrow. Now vincent is no ordinary person, vincent is a fucking weirdo. He walks as if there is a vibrator stuck in his body. I had the unfortunate luck when he came over to tok cock with me today.

Vincent: What do u think of the girl in the handphone shop?

Me: I think she has a great figure.

Vincent: I luuvv her ass.

Me: Ok, ic

Vincent: Have u ever done it in geylang before?

Me: Err no

Vincent: The girls there are fantastic! Do u watch porn?

Me: Which guy hasn't?

Vincent: I love ang mo porn, they are hardcore!

Me: Oh ok

Vincent: Can u share with me any dvds?

Me: Err why dont u download from internet?

Vincent: Too slow la, it will take days.

Me: Oh then go Johor buy lor

Vincent: Where, where?

Me: Holiday plaza

Vincent: Ok, I call my fren now

And with that he really called his fren to arrange a trip together to go Johor. Well done to him. Even when I knocked off to go home, I was stopped in my tracks by other loonie.

Loonie: Hi, i need to ask a favor from u

Me: What?

Loonie: I need money to buy dinner, can u spare me 2 dollars?

Me: No

I mean, do I look like some welfare organisation called sharity? No! Do I look like I print money? No! Waz up with these fucking loonies I wonder.

But overall it has been fun so far in Singpost. The staff there are tok cock people. The ezy cash lady is very cute and friendly. The guys got so bored we started asking each other questions like who would we prefer to have for a gf between serene(ah lian) and Jenny the ezy cash lady. No one voted for serene, haha.

Summary of day 3 at work. Had an unpleasant encounter with an uncle early in the morning. He was drinking Baron strongbrew beer at like 11am and was toking alot of bullshit to me so I tried to escape by telling him that I had to do my work. Then he asked me to give him my handphone number and address so that he can get his friend to hire me for dunno what work also. Anyway while he was not aware I immediately went to hide and sun pian take a break. Can't understand why hougang has so many fucking nutcases around. And Hougang uncles have a very disgusting habit, they prick their nose in public.

Also, I met another one of my secondary school fren Fiona which makes me realise, if I want to find anyone from my secondary school, I think spending a week in Hougang mall will help me find half the class there. Another one spotted was Lta Dave from soa, he looks as if he has been sacked from the army, looking rather sloppy and run-downed.

I wonder what tommorrow brings.

Two days into work and my legs are feeling sore from standing long hours. Anyway the team is still the same, only some new faces. In fact the new faces are only two weeks into their job so by right I even more lao jiao than them. Met quite a few pple, my primary school fren who is now a regular in the navy, staff sergeant Jimmy who is now a csm in 46SAR. He stay near hougang(Aru beware). Also met my serangoon sec frenz, raymond poh who dropped out of poly half way and is now carving out a career in selling massage chairs. Met Chen Yee, still pretty as ever, she was one of the few success story together with me in my sec school having made it to JC. I guessed throughout the school history prob no fewer than 200 people went to JC.

Speaking of the Prudential team, they hired an ah beng and ah lian to replace the old staff. Take it from me folks, don't trust anything finacial consultants tell ya, they are as the name suggest finacial CONsultants. Besides the ah beng consultant looks more like someone who acts in gangster films. Some observations noted from working in hougang mall, people in hougang still walk and swing their arms the ah beng way, as if their arms had no joints to control them. And the mall is still filled with 13yr old small punks wtih purpled dyed hair, alien workshop shorts and spewing foul language picking up fights to impress the ah lians. Yet, the good thing about hougang is that there are many shops that sell things like soap, batteries, clothes for cheap cheap. Actually I think what I am writing today is incoherent, muz be the tireness, hehe...

UNITED WE STAND

I feel gutted for Man Utd, they should have beaten the blues last night. But then again we didn't lose so at least we stood our ground.

Exams are finally over. However my early morning wake up routine still continues as I report for work at Hougang Sing Post again tmr morning. I will be able to earn 250 bucks in 5 days so I can use it to enjoy life in dec without feeling too guilty. I shall go for a run later, gotta get back match fitness in two weeks time. Earlier also, I went to Serangoon interchange to eat my fav mee pok. Though the standard is still there, the portion has gone down so much, felt cheated paying 3 dollars for what I felt was 1.50 bucks worth. Had a hair cut which turned out a bit disatrous. I wanted a cut like Valencia's David Villa but end up I think the Aunty didn't really knew how I wanted it so she juz cut a crew cut for me. Now I feel like a army boy again. Think I shall try a mohawk next time.

Wednesday, November 22, 2006

Just woken up from my sleep. Gosh its been awhile since I took a nap without having to set the alarm clock. Anyway I just finished my semi-final match against Fluid mechanics earlier this morning, two days after a tough quarter final against mechanics of materials. Now I have five days to prep for the final against soil mechanics.

I have to write about my neighbours, got some stuff to say about them. My left door neighbours are wankers. i can't understand how they can keep their doors close 24hrs 7. Go brush teeth muz lock door, go piss also muz lock door, come out to take a breather also muz lock, I mean what the fuck is so valuable inside that one muz lock the door everytime. Its not as if your shoes are soooo COOOOl that u gotta keep it inside in case I steal them. U wankers! Shihao's french roomie is also a wanker. Just hearing the footsteps and I know its him. He pounds the floor loudly when he walks to the toilet. He used to walk real fast as in fast march pace to the toilet and lately he sprints, and I mean sprint to the toilet. He muz be pretty fit I guess. Loong's french dude isn't far better, heard from Loong that he eats Macdonalds three times a day for his meals. Guess chinese cuisine doesnt suit his taste buds.

And the vietnamese food in my hall canteen sucks big time. They should make an effort to learn English. A month ago I ordered set 1 and got on bowl off dung. Mins later I ordered another SAME set for my roomie and got a different bowl and asked her why, she simply said ya same. And when I said I DUN WAN chong, she nod her head say yes muz muz! Upon my pleas not to, she still put it in the end. So I have since condem that stall and hope everyday that it closes down. Vietnamese pricks...

Monday, November 13, 2006

With my first exam paper starting in two days, its doesn't get any better with mself falling sick today. Suffering from a minor cold and bad sore throat infected by my father and mother over the weekend. I hope the gallons of water I have drunk today cure me asap. With the exams looming, I realised that I am sleeping more and more. Perhaps that is how my body copes with stress. Different people have different methods I guess, like Kangli for eg, he relieves stress by downloading Japanese AV porn, so if anyone wants a sneak preview u can ask him.

Juz gotten a call from Captain Helmi, the team is back again but sadly I won't be able to play this weekend but at least there will be something to look forward to after exams. Furthermore, my dramas and movies are waiting in line in my laptop for me to view so dec will be a month to cherish.

Thats all folks, back to studying again.

Thursday, November 02, 2006

Studying at Lee Wee Nam library has so far been fruitful. The air con is just alright and the environment is very conducive to study. Also not much choice la, can't be back at my room at certain timings. Have to be understanding towards my roomie. Hehehe. Kangli is one hell of a tiger I tell you folks.

Exam period is always a time where fitness level drops and fat level increases. It doesn't help very much when the only food available at 11pm plus is Macdonalds. Speaking of macdonalds, when I was a young boy, I fell in love with macdonalds at first sight. My fav burger was the cheeseburger. There came a time when i would only desire to eat burgers. My mother in a desperate attempt to change that fake me a story( my mom told me many lies last time). She claimed that burgers made all my elder cousins contract diabetes and told me I would suffer the same fate if I continued. But stubborn as I was, I couldn't. Once at dinner time at Hougang South Interchange hawker centre, I whined and whined about eating my cheeseburger and refused to eat the hawker food. My mother gave up and passed some money to my sister and told her to get my cheeseburger. That was where my father straightened me up. He gave me one tight slap and told me 'no more macdonalds for you'.

Fast forward to now, I can eat macdonalds anytime I want. Hahaha.

Sunday, October 29, 2006

This week is hell of a hectic week for me starting with 2 quizzes tmr and another two along the week. Spent the past two days at home sitting glued to my table and trying to figure out my fluid mechanics tutorial.

Also after dropping a hint a few weeks ago that the only vegetables I liked were brocolli, tao gay and kang kong, my mom specially made tao gay and brocolli for all my meals. It seemed as if it was a make parry eat more vegetables campaign.

Anyway Joseph aka Pirlo sent me a link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzHlMs2rSIM
It is fucking hilarious but only if you are not a Christian. It is basically some anti religion skit. So don't take offence for you have been warned. For the rest like me, hope ya enjoy it.

Wednesday, October 25, 2006

My ankle is finally feeling the pain after playing two games in three days. I know one day when I grow old I will sort of regret what I am doing now.

Anyway I spent the whole of yesterday studying in my room. My dad tried to tempt me back home by offering to give me a treat. I guess he was probably feeling lonely since my Mom is in Beijing on holiday and my sis working in Hong Kong. I told him cheekily to go to KTV. Haha

Two night ago some idiot spoilt my day. I hate to be a bad guy but sometimes being nice doesn't pay off. I was studying in the study room when I received a call from some stranger I presume from India.

Kei Leng: Hello can I speak to *%^$£"

Me: I think you call wrong number

Kei Leng: Hello I am looking for %£%$£"

Me: I think you call wrong number

Kei Leng: Hello I am looking for &*"^%£

Me: Eh fuck head, how many fucking times u want me to say u called the wrong
fucking number.

Kei Leng: Oh sorry......Hung up

It sort of brought me back memories of the putfile incident involving the chinese fella scolding some Indian fella. But anyway its seems that certain people don't get the message until the magic words pop out. Since I am writing about Indians, I might as well comment on the Indian scholars living in the corridor next to the toilet on my floor. Basically they stink so much I can smell them from 20m away. I wish I can banish all of them to another hall.

No offence to the Singaporean Indians, ya folks are fine, juz got problem with your native Indians.

Out of boredom, I came across this two links which I think is kinda of funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2xe_Z36_Lc and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDEnNAqpia8. Hope ya fellas enjoy it.

Saturday, October 14, 2006

Once again I got my wish to play as many roles as possible today, filling in at centre back, then left back, then centre back again then right back. It can get real fun but confusing at the same time. For the first time also, I finally got praise from Remy for playing well. My heart goes out to Adil and Hazid for playing today even though they were fasting. I could see that they were really shack but still hung on for the 3-2 win.

My dad also revealed to me in the car that Yahya Mahdon spoke to him after the game thinking my dad was a player or manager and said that our team was quite good. Its a great boost for morale hearing it from an ex-national team player. Feeling kinda of giddy, I think its the haze. Back to the Man utd game now.
Thursday's rugby training was better than expected with almost everyone I had in mind turning up for training. At least it made my effort calling people down worth it. Just checked my email and read Adam's email in which he thanked everyone for turning up for training. His msg was simple, play rugby for hall not just sorely for points or winning, but for the fun of it and playing for the other guy beside who has also been sweating like a dog in training and putting his body on the line in the game. Felt rather inspired.

Next week gonna be real fun as there will be a soccer friendly agains hall 11. Somehow I get this feeling that not many people know that Daniel is the new soccer manager. On wed where there was supposed to be soccer selection, I had three missed calls from people regarding soccer and thus spoiling my afternoon nap. Seems like I may have to arrange for the hall to fall in at the amphi theatre and conduct a handing over ceremony to let people know the hand-over.

Saturday, October 07, 2006

One thing about NTU is that it always have to be on a higher ground than everyone else. Making my way to the NTU alumni building yesterday for the oct fest event prove daunting when I saw the slope I had to climb. But anyway it was an experience with the free flow of booze and food. The crowd were mainly ang mo pple, had a chat with a German exchange student who told me that it was his first oct fest as he came from the Northern part of Germany which does not celebrate it unlike the southern part. Btw my dad knew how to speak German in his younger days while my sis knows how to speak French. Seems like I have to learn Spanish to maintain the tradition.

I think last night will the last time I touch beer until I get at least a silver for IPPT. Beer is definitely making my fitness drop like crazy and not doing me favours to get the 400 dollar cash. I weigh a hefty 81.2 KG now and hopefully my year end can bring it down to 75. Shall request to Helmi to put me in right back postion to run more.

Darn it, hazy days are back again.

Tuesday, October 03, 2006

So far school is depressing especially lab sessions which is always a drag. And after my quizzes finish this week, I will have another round next week. Nowadays have to be on 4NTM stand by mode to prepare for activation(quizzes).

Last saturday I remember watching the God of Gamblers 2 featuring Chow Yun Fatt, a classic show which I have already watched many times but still have no qualms watching it again. I luv the music when the hero gets out from the car and the way the hair is styled. I always savvy the moment when the bad guy assumes that he has won and gives out the hideous vicious laugh only to be anti-climax when the hero slams the winning card down and the bad guy will go 'hey I tot I arranged for your card to be swapped wat happen? Then the good guy will reveal the masterplan and out of nowhere the bad dude will whip out some weapon only to be killed by the hero in dramatic fashion. I think these kinda shows are really cool and only Hong Kong movies can make it look interesting. Can't imagine hollywood shows producing the same effect. Gonna take my nap now.

The recess week has come to an end and its back to another hectic time table in the next couple of weeks. This routine is becoming pretty mundane to me now. Sometimes I wished that time can stop for me to enjoy life better.

I spent a few days in hall over the recess week trying to study finish my lagging tutorials and till now some of them are still lagging behind. I can probably blame it on watching back to the future and some other movies when I should have completed the tutorials first. On a positive note, I finally found the Guns and Roses live in tokyo concert on sharescan network, ending a 6yr search. The performance was superb especially when you have slash and Axl Rose downing whiskey and smoking what I presume is marijuana during the concert getting really high.

I also swam quite a bit this week especially on fri at the singapore swimming club courtesy of guest entry by Junxian. It was good to relax in the jacuzzi and steam room. But after that going to old airport road to eat hokkien mee didn't really do my body favours.

Today also played soccer for wengfai team, dunno what is happening to Helmi' team so meanwhile just play for him loh. Dunno why he play 3-5-2 formation meaning our defence really had to be on our toes but overall the opponents were easy meat. Sometimes I don't understand why people fight in friendly games, its not as if it is a competitive game where money is at stake. The left winger who pushed Ray to the ground after being tackled was a fucker and I couldn't help it but rushed in and shove him away demanding an explanation. Ben Chen u faggot u purposely take ur time jog over and help right think I dunno. Next time u kanna whack I will pretend leg cramp, haha. Speaking of which my knees are beginning to feel the wear and tear from football. I suppose I will probably not take up Muay Thai this friday after all then.

Saturday, September 23, 2006

Last night was smashing. I had a drinking session with my NTU bruddas not to mention heavy drinkers too. Initially the two jugs of beer seem harmless until out came the Chivas Regal bottle. The good thing about Chivas is that it is so neat you don't feel the kick. After we left Brewertz, I wasn't walking straight and so was Phil who looked like he was gonna puke any moment. He went into MOS while me and Junxian left for home.
I took the night rider back and with two more stops to go, I had to alight to puke the beer out. After walking for another 100m, I vomitted again. While I thought that was the end of it, in the middle of my sleep I had to puke again, thankfully I managed to rush to the toilet bowl in time. One thing good about Chivas is that even when puking, the process is smoother than say if I had drunk Black Cat instead. Anyway that summed up yesterday night, wasted my money eating the burgers which eventually ended out in my vomit.

Thursday, September 21, 2006

I am gonna be broke soon starting with this friday, heading down to clarke quay to have a few pints of beer with Phil and Junxian. Next week probably eat some buffet with my roomie and Jianming. Not forgetting watching the movie Miami Vice. I also spent 18bucks on tickets to the octoberfest event held by the NTU German society whereby there will be free flow of Paulenars beer, dunno whether true anot in the sense sure make a loss if give free flow mah.

The recess week is also a week whereby I have to pia all my lagging tutorials and get my fitness back. Gym, swimming and soccer all planned liao and hopefully can faithfully stick to it. Been trying to motivate myself to get IPPT gold so that I can use the 400 bucks to go overseas. I know easier said than done but hey, if the Italian wankers can win the world cup, anything is possible.

Just finished watching the office, a British comedy which made me laugh my balls off. I laughed till my throat went dry and I seriously recommend it to anyone who is bored or stressed.

Yesterday was a sinful day. While watching the two big games, I was indulging myself in mee goreng, snickers, cookies and cream ice cream and chivas regal. Man Utd lost and that was when Chivas came in to console me.

This week is another quiz week before I get to enjoy the recess break. Finally Miami Vice will be opening, have been waiting for that show quite a while.

Channel 5 sux big time. They do not show champions league soccer and on top of that have only decided to air prison break now. Thankfully I have watched season two due to the network system in NTU. First world country my ass. Besides I wonder wats up with NTU professors nowadays, getting involved in so many raunchy affairs. I won't be surprised to see my lecturers in the Newpaper one day.

In loving memory of my cousin : Selena Low

It has been an emotionally wrecking week for me with today being the worst day of it. Standing next to the coffin with everyone saying their last prayers for my cousin was a painstaking event to experience till the part when the top part of the coffin showing her face was covered. That was the last time anyone of us would have gotten to see her face again.

Proceeding to the viewing hall to see the coffin being slowly transported before it gets cremated is a heart-breaking process. It makes myself feel powerless standing behind the glass door and watch someone of my kin being 'sent off' in this manner. My mom and aunt took it all rather badly. It is a very sad and painful event to experience, much worst for my uncle and cousin and the scene keeps replaying in my head whenever my mind idles. Hopefully as time passes I should be able to get over it soon.

I am beginning to feel like William Gallas, playing centre back then left back then right back then left back again, though it can be quite fun. Everyone was tired yesterday. I was totally shacked. Great to welcome Indra back also, the man I look and pass to whenever I run out of options. It was weird playing against Terence, no one was able to get the ball away from him as usual.

As wednesday draws nearer, my mood is getting more solemn. My cousin's crementation will be a hard one to swallow. Everyone is worried about my grandmother and whether she will be able to take it. Seeing my uncle's teary eyes and sad face last saturday also sank my heart. I really feel for the whole family and wish that they can get over it soon.

Just back from my cousin's wake. She has left this world as of today afternoon after 5years of suffering from her condition. Shall not discuss the matter anymore. Bad news one after another has messed up my head. This has been a bad week for me, beginning to fear the word death. I realised that I can't accept the reality of people around me leaving this world. I just hope that things can brighten up soon.

Pardon me if I am moody.

Yet another one of my section man has passed away though this time it was suicide. Its been like eight months since Fabrian passed away and recently my instructor and now Kuan. At times I wonder if I should show more concern to the men or at least tell them to approach me should there be any problems and try my best to help them as death should never be an option. Probably have a talk with them soon together with Zhan Ming to work things out.

Rest in peace Kuan Chin Jian.

I think I may have suffered a metatarsal injury in my toe after playing for Tim's team yesterday. My big toe can't seem to bend fully and it hurts. Shouldn't have been so garang yesterday. Anyway I have come to realise that playing beside crap players brings out the best from me considering that I have to step up my game instead of sitting back and relax.

I also attended my block party at my house last night. Bo bian actually coz my daddy is a main com secretary for the residents commitee so I have to support him. The block party was to welcome my district PAP MP MR Seah and create cohesiveness among other block residents. There were many food provided by my neighbours. My mom provided her Foo Chow traditional red wine chicken while my neighbour provided some traditional rice cake which was delicious. However the flavour was spoilt when my neighbour insisted that he pour his indian curry on my food. Not trying to be racist but hey Tau Hoo and Hokkien Mee don't go well with curry ok, get it? Actually to me the cohesiveness and crime prevention awareness were just an excuse for the party. The main thing was to allow them to turn the badmintion court into a mass open air karaoke session. The aunties were happily belting away hokkien and cantonese songs and dancing away. Even my dad joined in to sing his favourite Chen Lei xim mai eh mai kao song which without fail wakes me up on saturday mornings when he sings it.

I wonder what my good fren Captain Mike will do for social activity in hall. I will probably expect weekend trips organised by him to Batam, Macau or Genting, free shuttle bus service from Hall 12 to Joo Chiat or maybe discount vouchers to massage parlours. Ah Captain Mike when is our first event?

Lastly I am still considering whether to join any sub com anot. Coz being a sub com got many sai kang to do. Furthermore the points system is so cocked up, play inter hall games no points. But hopefully soccer will make it to semi finals this year so I can threaten the hall to give me Bruno's room otherwise I wll quit the hall and on top of that pull kannan and his frenz out from the soccer team. See what they play then. If that ploy doesn't work then I will have to execute backup plan B which I will keep it as a secret first. Hahaha,I juzz luvvvvv threatening people.

Just a while ago, my first semester friend spoke to me on msn. He is an India scholar who doesn't talk much to me and the words we exchange can hardly reach past a hundred. But his agenda was short and sweet, help him gather votes for him in the coming EEE elections. All these campaigning be it hall or school brings out the wayanging in people, where people suddenly lick your balls, pretend to be your good friend, offer you goodies, promise you the moon, but after being elected, poof..... No news or either that life still remains the same.

I think winning an election is all about strategy. Take Hougang and Potong Pasir for example, offers to upgrade the housing estate and free abalone porriage didn't sway votes. If I were to run for election, my strategy would be simple. Free Kopi O for residents every saturday morning and lower the tax on beer. Screw whatever moral principles or bad effects it will have on the young, I mean c'mon the young will eventually grow up and see the dark side of life anyway.

To Captain Mike, I hope after you get elected, you will run the social life of Hall 12 well and plz don't make it become the Joo Chiat of NTU hostels.

I feel so proud today becoz for the first time in NTU, I have posted something on the forum board. Mine is the one that says 'Why Ntu never sell Hokkien mee and Kway Chap'. I hope the student union takes the issue seriously and do something about it real soon.

Fav food

2) Kway Chap
3) Roti Prata
4) Chicken Rice
5) Mee Pok da
6) Beef Hor Fun
7) Char Kway Tiao

Fav drinks

2) Kopi
3) Sugar cane
4) Chin Chow
5) Ribena
6) Tau Hui jui
7) Milo

Ok as I am typing this I am definitely salivating a bit and regretting not buying back roti prata just now. Thus this post shall end here before I develop more regrets.

I got a shock after reading today's papers when I found out that my Taekwondo instructor passed away on mon following complications after lap band surgery. Didn't know that the news was on wed front page of home section as I was in f.o.c.

Training under him was no doubt tough but fun at the same time. He would have supper with us at Toa Payoh after training and share laughters with each other. He was never interested in the belt level system and would only train us rigorously in sparring. He put me in a green belt competition when I was only a white belt and put me in a black belt competition when I was a green belt. His advice to me in competitions was simple but effective. The words were 'if you don't kick ur opponent, they will kick you, so choose'. In any case, I hope that the fraternity will give him a deserving tribute for his service to the sport.

Working at AMK Singpost for the past two days is physically draining esp when I had F.O.C earlier in the week. The only good thing about the job is that at the end of the day I can eat free ice cream provided by Prudential as part of the promotion.

After the job I had to rush down for soccer and today was probably my best game for the team so far, timing my tackles well and almost getting on the score sheet after some neat passing with Nas and Sharul. Could have dribbled the ball into the penalty box but opted for the spectacular instead outside the big box only to see my top right corner shot denied with a fine save by the keeper. So my first goal is still waiting.

It was nice to have the last shot of the game and to shake hands with the ref, Yaya Mahdon, ex-international player in the 90s. Too bad we couldn't take his offer of a friendly next wed because the clowns in the team said they were 'patriotic' or they would only play if the match was at national stadium.

A lot of players have pre-match routines. Ferdinand likes to listen to hip hop before a game, Paul Ince would only put on his shirt after he emerges from a dug out and most players like to touch the pitch and make the sign of the cross etc. As for myself, I have finally found my own routine, that is drinking teh c peng before a match. For the last two weeks including today, I felt that after drinking teh c peng, it somehow kept me focused, steady and at my optimum during the game. I am not exactly superstitious but I believe in the saying 'if it ain't broken, don't fix it'. Probably follow the routine next week.

After two weeks of work and saikang, finally I get my off day tomorrow.

I love singpost

Especially since I was posted to Serangoon Gardens, just besides chomp chomp. The day couldn't have gone on to a better start, 830 suppose to start work yet finacial consultants only came in at 1030, so technically i couldn't do much either, so I just sat and rot inside the post office. Even when they arrived, they realised that they had no printer and so could not clinch any deals and so the debate on whether to change location dragged until noon by which they decided to go to Hougang mall. Fine by me because half the day was gone already and they told me to go to Hougang mall just to wayang. However tomorrow I will have to report back to chomp chomp. Sabina gave me advice to bring along my mp3 player for the two morons stationed there are notorious for being later comers.

Heaven is so sweet.

Happy Birthday to me

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to parry, happy birthday to me.

Had lunch with my family along with my uncle and aunt. Enjoyed the buffet though it would later leave me rather bloated. Worst part of it was that I went to play soccer. 20 mins played and I could feel the effects of eating good food over the week and during my time in Hong Kong. Also, it was a mistake not to warm up properly considering that by looking at remy's friends, I could forsee the game being fastpaced and requiring lots of sprinting. Legs are kinda of jelly now and my toenail which probably cracked when I mis-kicked the ball is looking gross now.

I don't want the holidays to end.

A recount of celebrities I have come acrossed during the holidays. Two months ago, Michialle Chia, Henry Thia, Quan Yifeng. A month ago, Carole Lin, in Hong Kong two lesser known actors, last week Andrew Seow, last night Jade Seah, Miss Singapore 06 runner up. She was playing cards with her friends at Breko Cafe. Her boobies seem bigger than on tele though.

Anyway the meet up with Phil and Junxian was more on catching up with each other and finding out what each other have been doing. Also found out a dark secret about someone in my hall. Was kinda of tempted to go on the genting trip but afraid that I might lose a fortune there. Next week should be fun, prob catch lady in the water, check out eski bar at holland v.

Day 1

I started off the trip by watching V for Vendetta on Cathay Pacific. Dark and creepy show but nonetheless very interesting concept. Upon arrival, checked into hotel before embarking to the place where the wishing tree featured in Hong Kong drama was. It was kinda of disappointing since throwing of the lucky charms were no longer allowed. So my dad and I made our way back to see some temples located near the mtr stations. The transport system in Hong Kong is well organised and definitely more orderly than Singapore. People queqe up behind the yellow lines and unlike here where everything is cheong.

At night I went to the avenue of stars to see the lights show and the Bruce Lee statue. Along the pathway there are handprints of actors and mine matched Andy Lau.

Day 2

Of course it has to start with Yum Cha. Good glorious food. After which the half day city tour began. We were taken to Victoria Peak where one can see the breath-taking view of what I presumed the CBD area of Hong Kong. Following up was the beach where we could see Jackie Chan's house. I also took a sampan ride which was quite meaningless but part of the package plan. The factory trips were a waste of time too since I had no plans to buy medicine or Jades.

Day 3 and 4

I spent two days in ShenZhen and trust me, don't waste your time there. The food is mediocre compared to Hong Kong and the clothes or bags are either fake or not cheap. The bubble tea is as good as just drinking evaporated milk. But talk about beer and cigarettes and one can definitely sin until Satan take your life. As usual there were visits to so called museum which ends up being another factory outlet trying to sell ya products. There is only one night market so walking the same place for two nights is quite enduring.

Day 5

Back in Hong Kong. Made my way to Stanley market and bought a Mao Zedong bag. Along the way I saw an old actor about my papa's age. I remembered him acting in those police drama or office political shows. According to my dad, he was considered the Andy Lau in the early days. Went to the museum to see the history and after that went to temple street to have claypot rice for dinner. It is a place called Hing Kee which is recommended by a 8days booklet. Basically all my meals were according to those recommended by it. Pretty much yummy especially the oyster cake.

Managed to find a street where rejected goods mainly clothes were being sold. I bought a few Nautica polo Tees while my dad bought Colombia shirts, Timberland shirts and shoes. The prices are crazy and it required a lot of self control to resist buying all the sporting goods.

Needless to say I had to eat supper from all the late night shopping and sampled a dessert shop which sells something like tau hui except that it uses milk and not soya beans. Definitely not to be missed if I go back to Hong Kong one day.

Final day

Breakfast at Mido cafe, again another recommendation. It was funny though because the
boss came down and said he didn't feel like working and so the lady boss nagged at him until he could not take it. He cocked up orders and simply just threw the drinks away when it was wrong. But from a customer point of view, it was funny to see the couple argue and everyone else were controlling their laughter. Back to the food, the French toast was magnificent but the Yuan Yang was quite bland.

Proceeded to LanTau island to see the Giant Buddha at the Polin monastry, the biggest statue of a Buddha figure in the world. The view at the peak is beyond words and one has to make their way there personally to experience it.

Did somemore last min shopping at the shopping centre where the whole complex had nike and adidas factory outlets. No choice lor, bought some adidas socks, shorts.
Hurried to eat my late lunch before checking out. Tried roasted goose meat(not bad) and sio bak. I still miss the milk tea drink though.

Summary

Very reluctant to leave Hong Kong because of the lifestyle, food and night life. In some ways, Hong Kong is quite similar to Singapore but as it is bigger, it has so much more to offer, for example they have so many streets for food and shopping, it would take a while before boredom sets in. I hope to go back there again in a few years time, hopefully by then my Cantonese will improve too, right now it is probably like ten percent fuck only. Haha. Until then hello again Singapore, damn you.
